(1)How to rip convert DVD to Apple TV(Windows)

 

1. Free download Apple TV movie Converter + DVD to Apple TV Converter suite (latest trial version), install and run, select the DVD component.

2. Insert the DVD you'd want to convert into your DVD-rom.

3. Click 'File' menu and 'Open DVD', or directly hit 'Open DVD' button to load the DVD.

 

4. The software to take you to the DVD menu screen, you can click around in the DVD's menu to set up DVD playback like sound audio track and subtitles, then begin to play the movie.

 

5. The following window will pop up. Here, you can rename 'Title Name', set 'Save Path' and output quality, then click 'Yes' button to start ripping DVD to Apple TV mp4 or H.264 video from the point that the movie starts. That's , you can have a cup of coffee and wait it to complete, just so easy!

Note: Normally it takes about 40 minutes to convert a 2hrs DVD into Apple TV, but it will depends on your computer's performance, please try to close out any other background applications include your screensaver and let your pc dedicated for converting if possible.

If you'd like to record from certain time point, or want to change some parameters like 'output format', 'video bitrates', 'frame rate', 'audio bitrates', please click 'No' button to close the window.

 

6. Optional parameters settings
* Select subtitles and languages
Click 'Subtitle' or 'Audio Track' in the 'Setting' menu, choose the related value you like or you can select through the DVD menu.
* Set the start time to convert
Use the video playback controls to queue up the point at which you want to start ripping. Or click 'Setting -> Go to' and jump to previous/next chapter.
* More parameters
Click 'Setting -> Output video settings', here you can choose different profile, video/audio bitrates, video size, disable video/audio, aspect ratio, frame/sample rate, etc.
If you are not familiar with these options, please view the descriptions listed at the bottom of the window, the default setting is optimized for most users.

 

* Set output formats iPod, Apple TV or Convert DVD into mp3 only (extract the audio part only)
Choose the target file format from 'Profile' as follows.

*Crop/Cut & Resize the widescreen(16:9) DVD movie into fullscreen(4:3)

If you want to make the widescreen dvd(16:9) to be outputted as fullscreen(4:3) video, you can use the crop function. Set Crop to "Crop both black bands" and resize to be "stretch to full screen" if you don't need to keep the subtitle. Set crop to "Crop the upper black band" so you can keep the subtitle in the down black band, other more options are also available for you.

*Direct/batch conversion

If you want to rip you DVD movie into one whole file, please use the direct ripping mode described above.

If you want to rip your DVD by chapters to into separated output files (for example your music DVDs, TV Episode DVDs), you can use the batch conversion rip mode, just ticket out the titles you want to convert and click convert.

You can switch this two modes by clicking on the up mode -Direct or Batch.

7. Hit 'Convert' button, choose the recording time point and quality, then click 'Yes' to begin to convert DVD to Apple TV video or audio quickly.

2. Run Apple TV Video converter component, load the video files you'd like to convert by clicking 'Open file' button.


3. Click 'Output' and choose the pathname where you want to save your video files. Click 'Convert' to start converting video to Apple TV files.
Tips: Before converting, you can click 'Advance -> Video settings' to set 'Video format', 'Resolution', 'Framerate', 'Output Quality'. If you'd like to convert video to H264 .mov files, please set 'Video format' to 'H264(.MOV) FQ Variable Bitrate'. 'MPEG4(.mp4) FQ Variable Bitrate' is the default value. Certainly, you can also set 'Audio Bitrate', 'Channels', 'Sample Rate' and 'Volume' in 'Audio Settings' page.

4. After converting, you can open the output folder to check the Apple TV video files.

(3.)How to imported converted video into Apple TV and sync your iPod/iPhone or Apple TV?
After a short while, you will get the mp4 file that is ready to be played on your iPod or Apple TV (either you converted from DVD or from other videos files). But how do you add it to Apple TV?

Here is the steps:

1.Add videos into Apple TV, launch Apple TV and go to menu File->Add Files to library, select the converted files and they will be added to your Apple TV library.

2. Sync to your iPod/iPhone

If your iPod/iPhone and Apple TV has been set to automatically sync, just connect your iPod/iPhone to your computer, then Apple TV will start to sync all the new added files to your iPod/iPhone.

If your iPod/iPhone is set to sync with Apple TV manually, connect your iPod/iPhone to computer, create a new playlist though File->New Play list, then drag and drop the added files directly or from your Apple TV library.

Also you may set the video types before sync to make sure the videos appear in the right section of your iPod/iPhone, in Apple TV library, right click on the video files, go to Get Info->Options->Video types, there are 3 options available, movies, music videos and tv shows, if you want your music video appear in the music video section not in movies, please set it to music video instead of movie.

3.Sync to Apple TV.

After the video has been added into Apple TV, you can sync to Apple TV either automatically or manually.
